Couples tend to get married with a sincere belief that they will spend the rest of their lives together. For many, this is exactly what happens. However, a significant number of marriages end in divorce. Some couples overcome obstacles while others just can’t.

If your relationship is rocky does this mean that your spouse may be considering divorce? Here are a few things to look out for.

Lack of communication

All married couples have disagreements, and this may include giving each other the silent treatment temporarily. However, when the communication stops for extended periods, this may be a bad sign. Refusing to engage conversation to work through an issue could indicate that your spouse is no longer interested in saving the relationship. They could be contemplating divorce.

Your spouse is distant

Married life can be busy, particularly if the couple has career ambitions and children. Nonetheless, it is vital to make at least a little time for each other on a regular basis. If you’re no longer taking part in activities together, or your spouse is out all the time, then the relationship could be in trouble.

Lack of intimacy

Sometimes, a marriage that’s in trouble doesn’t involve heated arguments and disagreements. Often, the couple may even still get along relatively well. However, there may be no intimacy between the couple any longer. If your spouse is acting more like a roommate than a partner, they could have divorce on their mind.

If the relationship between you and your spouse has changed for the worse, it’s important to think about how to protect yourself. Seeking legal guidance is a good place to start.
